Original/Vtg Bally Shoes Poster- 1963 61cm x 41cm. A Striking Piece of MODernist advertising - using a bold deep Purple and Black colour combination, whilst employing a clean-'contemporary' style of graphics - very much of its period. The artwork is by "C o u Lomal"? , the Ad Agency was IPE of 59, Denvert - Rocereau, and it was printed by J Nicholas - Paris. The Stone Lithograph print, in primary colours on heavy poster paper remains original - with no fading or stains.
The full poster main pic gives the best idea about actual shades. Acquired in around 2004-6 and stored carefully, rolled - in a poster tube and in cool, dry, dark conditions ever-since. 3 slight defects are; 1. A light crease towards the top left (photo2), 2.
A neat 1.2cm horizontal tear in the Right margin (photo 5) and, 3. A neat, vertical 1.3cm tear in the Bottom margin (photo 6). All are hardly noticeable - and would become imperceptible once framed.
Just noticed: there's also a 60 Euro price mark in the bottom R corner - in Pencil. I don't feel his poster requires any real restoration before framing. And could be a great addition to any mid-century interior - due to its highly stylised-period graphics & bold, primary colours.
In the Mid-90s I collected Vintage Movie Posters: All being offered here have been carefully stored, in poster tubes in cool, dry clean conditions since. Concurrently & subsequently I have collected a number of music & travel posters - again, all being offered are originals only. Additionally, as I know the disappointment of receiving things that are not as presented, I'll be making every effort to describe things clearly & honestly - whilst giving any further information I can.
